General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI.

I am glad we connected.

Throat pain, tonsil swelling, and white patches on the throat may be seen with throat infection. A common cause may be Streptococcal pharyngitis.

Other symptoms include fever, runny nose, coughing, and lymph node swelling.

Most people would need antibiotics for treatment of the throat infection. Seeing a doctor for this would be a good idea.

I hope this helps. All the best.
