What Does Pain And Swelling In The Lower Leg Indicate?

61 yr old male, no bad habits, clean diet and regular (sometime too much) exercise. Lift long history of leg problems (have worn orthodics since childhood. legs bow out at the knee, general leg fatigue at times). this has been life long. A week ago did too much bowling and bike riding. Used ace bandages on both legs for 3 days.....felt ok. Last Thursday in afternoon, fever started. Fever Friday morning with right leg significantly swollen from below knee to ankle. Very painful to walk on.....ok when sitting- lying down.

Hi,

Fever always indicates an infection and so the leg swelling could be cellulitis. You need to get to a physician dear and start with antibiotics.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Harshita
