What Does Pain And Discomfort On The Upper Back Indicate?

I am having this pain discomfort on my left side upper back. It s worse when I rotate my left arm. I feel tingling and also numbness once in a while. I am concern because it s been happening for at least 4 months now. I am not sure if I hurt myself when I was working out. thanks for advise what I need to do. see a doctor, chiropractor ..
