What Does Numbness In The Hands And Fingers Indicate?

Hello, im experiencing lately bi-lateral hand numbness,more specific the thumb to the middle finger,which appears now in the middle of the nite 3am (EDT), Im a 61 yo white male,health care professional(dentist). Possible cervical vertebrae issue? Carpal Tunnel? Becoming more frequent. i do have a history of my wrist (right)in a tucked or 90 degree angle during sleep, and i will say its more symptomatic in my hand. Thank you for any assistance
