General & Family Physician 's  Response
Widal test is done for typhoid fever. A single Widal test showing H and/or O titers more than or equal to 1:160 and typhoid-like symptoms is suggestive of typhoid fever. Do you have fever?? If yes, then you are suffering from typhoid fever because your “H" antigen agglutination titer is 1:160. Confirmation of typhoid fever is done by blood culture because false positive Widal test also occurs in non-enteric salmonella infection such as Typhus, immunological disorders, chronic liver disease and cryptococcal meningitis.
Typhoid fever is a bacterial infection caused by salmonella typhi. It is very resistant kind of fever.
Advice
1.     Hospitalization
2.     Complete bed rest
3.     Ceftriaxone 1 grams twice daily intravenously for 14 days
4.     Paracetamol 500 mg if fever occurs
5.     Drink plenty 4 – 5 liters of uncontaminated water daily
6.     Investigations –blood culture for salmonella typhi, CBC, Hb%
Thanks
