What Does My Urinalysis Test Result For Severe Pain In Lower Left Back Indicate?

I have severe pain in my lower middle back left side. This usually happens when I am sleeping. The pain s so sharp last for about 30 seconds. If I move the pain comes back. Two weeks before this I had my annual annual gynocologist visit. My urine sample should bacteria and some blood. My Dr. Prescribed antibiotics for 3 days and to come back in 2 weeks for another urine sample. The second urine sample still showed some blood. Going back to the pain any suggestion what I can do?

Hello
Thank you for your question.
From the pain you have described along with the urine analysis reports ,
I feel that Renal stones could be a possible diagnosis , apart from an infection.
Kidney stones usually cause severe pain from loin to groin associated with nausea and vomiting.
I would advise you to get an abdominal ultrasound done which can detect kidney stones or any urinary tract obstruction.

Until the reports are available I would advise Plenty of oral fluids ,as well as analgesics for the pain. It is better if you consult a GP in case you have any co-morbid illnesses. You may also require a urine culture and sensitivity. If there is any infection detected , you will be prescribed another course of antibiotics depending on your culture results.

I hope you have found this information useful.

Thanks
Dr. Alex
