What Does My Ultrasound Scan Report Indicate?

I have hadone swollen lymph node in my right groin area for about 14 weeks. I saw my family doctor at 4 weeks and he did some blood tests, especially one for mono which was negative. At 12 weeks I saw him again and he ordered an ultra sound which he told me was negative. I still have a large hard swollen bump on the right side of my groin. Should I see an ob gyn doctor?

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello. Thanks for asking on Healthcaremagic. Any visible swelling in the body is ideal for a fine needle aspiration cytology. In this a pathologist inserts a fine needle into the swelling and aspirates some cells from the swelling. This aspirate is smeared on the slides, stained and examined. Mostly fnac gives a definite diagnosis of such swellings. Sometimes there's a doubt and other tests might be needed to supplement the diagnosis. So get an fnac done to make out the final diagnosis. Thanks. Hope I helped you with your query.
