What Does My Hsg Test Result Indicate?

My hsg result says that my endometrial cavity was normal in size and shape.no irregularity or filling defect seen.there was terminal left hdrosalphinx with delayed peritoneal spill of contrast.right fallopian tube was demonstrated and of normal calibre with free peritoneal spill of contrast.conclusion of the result says left hydrosalphinx and patent fallopian tubes.is this a normal result?my doctor says i should be able to get pregnant.but i have tried for four years and nothing has happened.my husband has no fertility problem.iam 38yrs and my husband is 39yrs.

Hello

Your HSG findings suggests normal right fallopian tube. This is a normal finding and there is free spillage of contrast from right side.
However, there is delay in spillage of contrast from left fallopian tube.Distal left fallopian tube is also dilated.

Despite abnormal left fallopian tube,it shouldn't interfere with your conception because only one normal fallopian tube can lead to normal pregnancy.

Rest of the findings like uterus and its cavity etc are normal.

There are many other causes of infertility. This need proper evaluation and management.

Get well soon.
Take Care
