Hi, Thanks for writing in. Your MRI report is explained below 1)Marked left maxillary sinus mucosal thickening This is a sign of mild sinusitis (infection in air spaces next to nose). It is not clinically significant. 2) 8 mm probable pineal gland cyst. This is a small benign cyst and rarely causes any problems. It is mentioned as a probability and not a definite finding. This should not be a concermn. 3) mild nonspecific periventricular white matter gliosis adjacent to the right frontal horn. This is showing little leakage of fluid into the brain. At an elderly age, this is an expected finding without serious consequemces. Your age is important when considering this finding. 4)mild disc degeneration with disc protrusions and visible annular fissures at c5-c6 and c6-c7. Mild spinal stenosis and slight flattening of the ventral cord at cd-c6. This is a degenerative change in the neck spine causing degeneration of disc and pressure on nerve roots leading to pain in neck and arms. 5) mild neural foraminal narrowing on the left at c3-c4 on the right at c4-c5 and bilaterally at c5-c6. This is also an age related spine and disc degeneration which causes pressure effects on nerves and can cause pain in neck. You do not have MS by the above findings. The pineal cyst is not a serious concern and rarely a cyst of 8 mm causes any symptoms.
