What Does My Blood Test Result Indicate?

just had yearly exam and my blood test came back with the following results, what does it mean RDW-CV 19.5 Hemoglobin 10.3 Hematocrit 32.1 MCV 68.2 mch 21.9 iron 26 TIBC 508 ferritin 9 I am a 55 year old male what could possibly be the cause of these numbers

Hello and welcome to HCM,
The interpretation of your blood report is as follows:
The hemoglobin level, hematocrit levels, MCV and MCH are all low.
You are suffering from anemia.
The RDW-Cv is raised which implies that there is marked variation in the sizes of red blood cells. A normal RDW should be below 15.
This picture is quite suggestive of iron deficiency anemia.

This is further proved by a low ferritin level and raised TIBC (total iron binding capacity).
You need to consult your doctor with the report.
The iron deficiency anemia needs to be treated with iron supplements.
Besides treatment the cause for iron deficiency at age of 55 needs to be found out.
Deworming should also be done.
An upper GI endoscopy and lower GI endoscopy also needs to be done to look for cause of chronic blood loss.
