What Does My Blood Test Report Indicate?

Good evening, I have just receive the results of a blood test and observed that SGOT and SGPT values are above the reference values. In specific, SGOT is 40.0 (reference range: 11-38 iu/l) and SGPT is 75.0 (reference range:11-43 iu/l). I am 49 years old, male, in good physical condition. Can stress cause an increase in SGOT and SGPT values? I want also to mention that I haven t taken any medication that may have caused this increase

Hello
Stress has no effect on liver enzyme levels.

Your numbers aren't worrisome since it's only a mild elevation but that can be from alcohol ingestion or acetaminophen or ibuprofen ingestion.

Were I your doctor, I would just repeat the test in three months since most often the numbers return to their normal ranges
