What Does My Biopsy Report Indicate?

In Febrary my doctor found a nodule on my thyroid. I had a biopsy done and I have been diagnosed with a 1.7 cm Hurthle cell neoplasm of the Thyroid. At the same time I ve also seen my biological dentist who found cavitations where my wisdom teeth were and each showed signs of infection that she treated with Prolazone and Ozone. It is very difficult to find information on hurtle cell. My question is with as rare as Hurthle cells are could this infection have created the Nodule? Can Hurthle cells be spread by doing a biopsy?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Infection does not lead to hurtle cell neoplasm development. Second, FNAC or biopsy done with new needle so no chance of tumor spread by that. If capsular and vascular invasion is not present and malignant changes are not seen then no need for much worry and regular follow-up done.

Provide your biopsy report to give more comment. You are right, hurthle cell neoplasm is not common.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Parth Goswami
