Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
Your father, since he is a known diabetic, having
creatinine of 3.9mg/dl is quite high. He has been given
Ertapenem injection to treat infection of the kidneys, which could have caused renal impairment and caused raise in creatinine levels.
Even with treatment, his creatinine levels remains quite high at 3.18mg/dl.
Since the urine culture does not show any organism, it says that he is free of infection.
You need to periodically get his creatinine levels done to know weather it is decreasing towards normal or not. In case it remains high, he would be having risk of kidney failure due to acute insult to the kidneys. Hence, this entity needs to be taken care as he is diabetic.
He should keep his blood
glucose under control and get attended for any acute infections promptly.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
