What Does My PSA Level Of 5.43 Indicate?

Hi my name is David, had prostate cancer then seed implants but the cancer came back. Am currently awaiting bonescan and CT results, am very nervous and scared. My question is, since my last PSA of, after surgery should be 0.05 at most, now at 5.43. what can you speculate a survival rate?

I understand your concern.
There is no specific normal or abnormal level of PSA. However, a normal PSA level is considered to be 4.0 nanograms per milliliter (ng/mL) or less. For men below 50 years of age, PSA level should be below 2.5 ng/mL. Older men often have slightly higher PSA levels than younger men.
It is a tumour marker and hence is useful in assessing the risk of prostate cancer in people with borderline or moderately increased total PSA (between 4.0-10.0 ng/mL).
Other modalities like ultrasound scan, CT scan or biopsy to know the status of cancer and its staging. Based on these means and staging, the survival rate can be predicted and appropriate treatment can be instituted. PSA value alone does not play much role in this process.
Kindly wait patiently for the other reports and take the treatment as would be advised.
