This is my MRI result : IMPRESSION: L4-5: There is a 5 mm left paramedian protrusion with severe left lateral recess encroachment. There is moderate central stenosis. There are somewhat short pedicles. The foramina are maintained. L3-4: There is a 2 mm bulge. There is slight disk desiccation. The disk indents the thecal sac. There is mild to moderate central stenosis. There is mild neural foraminal stenosis.
my question is What does this mean? and what should I do?
1.The report suggest that there is disc desiccation at the level of L3-4 which means loos of hydration level. 2.The disc is seen causing pressure effect on the foramen exiting nerve root. 3.Due to which one can be symptomatic with radiating pain to the limbs. 4.There is a pressure effect of the disc over the thecal sac and central canal causing indentation. 5.In this case the treatment mainly is exercises followed by physiotherapy - rarely operative / interventional.
Good luck. Hope i have answered your query, any thing to ask ? do not hesitate to ask. http://doctor.healthcaremagic.com/doctors/dr-ganesh/62888
