What Does Moderate Cardiomegaly On A Chest X-ray Report Suggest?

Just had chest xray today and moderate cardiomegaly was diagnosed. I have had a cough thinking it was allergies but it is going away...using two inhalers has helped. Am preparing for hip surgery May 30 - been to my dr and had echogram and carotid testing done and got cleared.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear
I evaluated your query in depth .
@ Moderate cardiomegaly is many times normal age related finding on the
chest x-ray ( usually patients are asymptomatic in incidental findings
case) so your echo & carotid testing came okay .
@ When cardiomegaly is due to pathological causes as ventricular
hypertrophy valvular issues , pulmonary hypertension or else you get
definite clues in the echo & carotid doppler .
Hope this will help you a lot .
Feel free to ask any further health related question in future anytime .
Thanks for using Health care magic .
Regards .
