What Does Mild Elevation Of Right Hemidiaphragm On Chest X-ray Suggest?

The most recent chest radiograph from (04/20/10)showed mild elevation of the right hemididiaphram.Iam 59 years of age,220lbs & 5ft 5.the problems with my blood pressure also elevated high,chest pains,headache is more,swelling of feet & hands.i was diagnose & treated with sarcoidosis & fibromyalagy in 1995.I stop taking the 13 different medicines I was taking per day when we lost our only son with cancer 10yrs ago with cancer,when his dr was treating for mirgrane headaches.He decided to go to another dr & told him that he was in the last stages of cancer.Iam sharing this with you & letting you know why I stop taking the medicines watching our son 32 years old fighting to live.I like to know should I be concern about the finding on the exam

Thanks for your question on HCM. I can understand your feeling and anxiety for your report. But I don't think you should worry much about elevated right diaphragm.
In normal indivudual, right diaphragm is always slightly higher due to liver beneath it. So slight elevation is normal. And congenital diaphragmatic defect can cause mild elevation. So I prefer ultrasound examination of right diaphragm, in my patients. If nothing comes in this, I advice them not to worry about mild elevation. So I suggest you to go for ultrasound.
