What Does Mild Degenerative Changes Present At The Acromioclavicular Joint Indicate?

I just had xrays of my right shoulder. The report said that there were mild degenerative changes present at the acromioclavicular joint. There is right apical pleural thickening also. I would like to know what that means and how I can heal it if possible. Thank you, Nancy

Thanks for writing in to us.

The acromioclavicular joint is a part of the shoulder region and is the interface between the acromion process of scapula (shoulder blade) and outer end of clavicle (collar bone). This is showing mild degenerative changes and is not a serious finding. It does not require healing and is more likely a change due to aging.

The pleura is a thin membrane like covering for the lungs. This is thickened at the upper part of lungs and is a benign finding and needs no treatment. If you had a lung condition in the past then it is important to discuss in detail.
