What Does Mastoid Opacification Suggest?
What is left mastoid opacification, which may be chronic? This is for an 89 year old male, 70 inched tall, about 190 pounds. He also has a soft tisuue mass in his left external auditory canal. A third item noted in his catscan was soft tissue thickening and stenosis of the right external auditory canal. What do these 3 results mean?

Dear most common cause for mastoid opacities is infection or inflammtion of mastoid air space.
Other causes are any trauma lead to bleeding in to spaces cause opacity.
Possible of malignant otitis externa with middle ear infection.
