General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

In placenta previa, the placenta is attached on mouth of uterus. Placenta is also a very vascular organ. At child birth, while mouth of uterus opens, the placenta attached there also separates to cause severe loss &also deprives the baby of placental attachment. Thus, making it very risky to mother as well as baby.

In your case, the placenta is marginal that means is attached only to margin of mouth of uterus. This position needs bed rest to avoid any bleeding before onset of baby birth. In marginal placenta there is slight chance of normal delivery, provided the placenta is pushed back while the labor starts (formation of lower segment). Treating doctor observed the condition and decides about type of delivery, normal or LSCS. Whatever is the way, if you follow doctor's instructions strictly, you and your baby would escape the risk.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
