What Does Lower Backache On The Right Side Indicate?

I have had very bad pain in my lower right side back. Had urine test and it states: Leukocyte esterase: Reference Range: Negative 1+ WBC Reference Range: RBC Reference Range: I was told I probably strained a back muscle, but I have done nothing to make that happen. It has been about a week and it seems to get better at night but as soon as I get up it starts all over again? Could I have a Kidney infection.

Hi

Greetings from HealthcareMagic!

It is very nice that you had given all information in a right way. You had also reacted spontaneously for your condition. It is very good thing that you had done your urine examination which gives us a clear idea about kidneys.
Kidneys are organs which helps in formation of urine and removal of waste products in the body. If there is any damage to the kidney, first thing effected will be urine. So urine test is very much required to know about kidney. As your urine test is normal, there is no chance of kidney disease. For further confirmation you can go for blood test like serum creatinine and blood urea (kidney functioning tests). Coming to the diagnosis of your doctor, muscle strain may be probable reason. You can confirm it by changing your posture, if pain changes with postural change, it will be muscle strain. Presently you can use any non steroidal anti inflammatory drug. You can use hot water pack for pain. If problem persists go for blood tests and contact us at any time. Hoping for speedy recovery.

Take Care!
