What Does Loose Motions After Eating In An Infant Mean?

My 7 month old baby has loose motions soon after eating, but some times his motion is normal. We had been to doctor who adivced to change to AL 110, when has diaherra, but nothing has helped. He passes motion 6-8 times a day, but until 6 month he used to pass motion only twice a day. He not teeting as well. Please help. Thanks!

Hi,

6-8 semisolid stools a days is not something to be worried at this age. It is because of something called gastro colic reflux, which becomes a bit disturbing in some babies, but usually will not need any intervention. If he is playful, feeding well, and stool is not as watery as in diarrhea, bloody or mucoid, nothing to worry. Just be confident and keep an eye on his weight gain- we expect around 400g gain a month.
