What Does Itching On The Eyelids Indicate?

This past week I was gardening and my eyes lids began to itch ... so I rubbed them with my gloves on. A couple of days later (Wed) the area around my eyes began to swell to the point of closing. I went to the hospital yesterday and was prescribed a steroid pack but they did not have a good choice to treat the skin around my eyes ... they feel sunburned and are discolored (red) all around both eyes. Do you know a good OTC cream that will sooth my eyes. Incidentally, my eyes themselves do not seem affected.

Hi,
Welcome to Healthcaremagic.com.

I had gone through your question I can understand your concern.

According to your history signs and symptoms it seems to me the case of allergic dermatitis.

You don't need to worry much, use the steroid cream that had been prescribed to you, you can also take anti allergic medication like levocitrizine tablets in consultation with your doctor.

Sigle out the cause and cause and avoid it to prevent the next time.

Hope my answer will help you and visit us back if you have any further questions.

Regards
Dr Muzaffer Hussain Parray.
