What Does Hypopigmentation In The Centre Of The Lips Indicate?

I have a loss of pigment in the center of my lip with uneven edges. My dermo suspected skin cancer and I treated with Efudex for 10 days. The white area shrank in size but very little. The areas on each side of the white spot did react to the Efudex. I still have the white spot and do not think it is precancerous or cancer. I am fair skinned and blonde and event years in the sun and body surfing withou protection. Would like an opinion.
