What Does Epithelial Cells Reading Being 10-12 Mean?

Hi doc, I've just got my report back and it says my epithelial cells reading is 10-12. What does this mean and how do I improve it? I'm 39 years old and would like to prevent whatever I can to lead a healthy lifestyle. Look forward to your answer soon, thanks and cheers.

Thank you for asking on HealthcareMagic.com!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

In an urinalysis normal values is ≤15-20 squamous epithelial cells/hpf.

Your reading is 10-12, so it's a normal value.

However a normal urinalysis does not guarantee that there is no illness. If you don't have any symptom or sign there's nothing to worry.

On the other hand abnormal findings are a warning that something may be wrong and should be evaluated further.

Wish you good health!
