Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I find myself occasionally feeling dizzy/lightheaded throughout the day and I never pass out from it but it feels like I am about to any second. My heart rate is usually normal, which would rule out a previous doctors diagnosis of heart arrythmia. Another doctor said vertigo might be at play. Please help I am confused at what is going on and it is scary at times when I feel lightheaded.
Hi! I have gone through your question and can understand your concern. If I were your physician the following would have been my line of approach 1. Firstly I will get your E.C.G done , since previously you have been diagnosed of having arrhythmia ,it has to be ruled out. Because arrhythmia can't be diagnosed just by checking once own heartbeat. 2. Secondly I will get your Blood sugar profile done as hypoglycemia may also lead to dizziness. 3. Vertigo may also cause dizziness and it can be diagnosed by some physical tests that can be carried out by your physician. Also an MRI can be done to diagnose any underlying problem 4. For vertigo I would have prescribed Tab Vertin but you should consult your physician for it as it is a prescription drug. Hope that answers your query. If you want any other information you are welcome to ask and I will be happy to answer. Wishing you good health.
