What Does Dilated Aneurysm Thoracic Aorta On A CT Scan Report Suggest?

I had a CT Scan of my chest two evenings ago. The hospital/doctor did not look at the result until this a.m. and I received a call at noon from his nurse. How urgent is this? She said he looked at the scan and I have a dilated aneurysm thoracic aorta. Is this something urgent? I do have a pace maker and called the bigger city, Appleton Heart Institute in Appleton, Wisconsin and I have an appt. with a nurse practitioner next Tuesday, Aug. 8 at 1 p.m. I could not see my cardiologist until 3 weeks, so, I agreed to go to the nurse practitioner in the same building. Qt. Is surgery in the very near future to repair this? Is it dangerous? Could it burst at anytime? Thank You. Mary Jane YYYY@YYYY

yes ...it is an emergency type thing ..u should see cardiothoracic surgeon as soon as possible ...or it cardiologist may do some stenting type thing in aneurysms...but it should be taken care early ...BP should be in control till then ...and donot exert itself physically or mentally as it may burst
