What Does Cramps, Bloating With Constipation Post Colectomy Suggest?

need some information on what to do for my father. recently had partial colectomy surgery and has had his bowels reconnected its been about a year and hes having cramping, bloating, and constipation. any ideas what it could be? im thinking a bowel obstruction maybe abdominal adhesions or volvulus. had blood work done and everything came back normal but he cant get a ct scan until 2 weeks from now.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my surgical experience, the issue may be from partial narrowing at anastomosis site, adhesions or others.

Primary relief with proton pump inhibitor, bulk forming laxative and anti-spasmodic medicines till the CT scan report is done.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
