What Does Blue Discoloration On The Penis Indicate?
Hi doctor, I m a 24 year old male. Last night I had sexual intercourse. She was on top and my penis bent slightly too far towards my toes. I felt a bit of a stretch but was in no serious pain. We could continue but my erection wasn t as hard as before. After the intercourse I noticed the base of my penis was getting blue. Today, one day later, my penis is blue/purple all the way to the head(the head is not blue) and on the sides, between my penis and testicles. I can still get an erection and urinate without problem. My erection is a bit less hard and gets soft fast. I think I stretched my muscles a bit. When it is erected I feel it a little, like a soreness. What should I do?

The penis getting bluish or purple after the position you took indicates that one of the veins got opened up and bleed under the skin.
The skin of the penis is very mobile thus making spread of hematoma easy.
The sparing of glans indicate the same.
Please consult a General Surgeon for clinical examination, color doppler of the area to see for the collection.
The treatment can be conservative in the form of anti-inflammatory medication. Give rest by asking for Amitryptiline, a prescription based medicine to avoid morning erection and no sexual intercourse or masturbation till the area is cleared of the hematoma.
May need a ligation of the bleeding vein if the problem continues to grow.
No need to apply anything locally as it does not help.
