What Does Blood In Stool Indicate?

Co worker deathly ill last Friday and tonight at work I had excrustating abdominal pain and was on the toilet for two hours with outbreak of sweating at 7pm. I came home went to bed and just woke up with bloody mucous stool pouring out of me with foul odor like never before. Co worker still very ill with concerning symptoms. I am nervous about this blood.
