My mom is not in good health. She has been passing out a lot and having seizures The doctors don t really know what is causing them. They have ran a lot of tests. Well they just found black spots on her lungs, and they think that may be it. She is a smoker of over twenty years.

Welcome to Healthcare Magic
Since when is she getting these attacks. She needs to get an ECG done especially during the time of these attacks to rule out heart arrhythmias. Does she have any medical history. Has she consulted with a Neurologist for these seizures. She needs a thorough checkup by her Neurologist to rule out problems in the brain causing the seizures. Keep her well hydrated. Do not allow her to drive. It would be best to find her suitable person to keep watch and prevent accidents to her whenever possible. She needs to stop smoking. Consult your Doctor regarding ways to get her off the cigarette and also on the possibilities brain problems in this case.

General & Family Physician Dr. Jitender Chauhan's  Response
Hello, welcome to HCM. Your mother need full cardiac and body work up. She should get an ECG and stress ECHO done. The depostion of tar in lungs s due to smoking and it could be responsible for reduced ability of her body to transport oxygen. She should also undergo a CT scan of brain as precautionary measure. Ask her to quit smoking and consult a cardiologist. Wish her good health.
