What Does Anal Bleeding Indicate?

I started bleeding this morning .thought it was constipation.as the day progressed I was dropping small blood clots when I went to the br.had a little stomach discomfort,but not bad.the bleeding and discomfort has now let up and I have no more discomfort

I can understand your concern.
Bleeding from anus can be due to following causes.
1. Friction bleeding from constipated stool
2. Anal fissures
3. Hemorrhoids
4. Intestinal infection
5. Intestinal cancer.
So better to consult doctor and get done ultrasound examination of abdomen and proctoscopic examination of anal canal.
If all these are normal then possibility of friction bleeding is more likely.
So drink plenty of fluids orally, avoid constipation, eat high fiber diet.
