What Does An Inflamed Spot On The Bottom Of The Foot Indicate?

I have a inflamed spot on the bottom of my foot. It is not an open sore but the skin looks dry (like a callous) on top. There are now tiny blisters around it and the redness is spreading. This started one week ago and it is very painful to walk on. The pain has been increasing. Not sure if this is urgent to get to a doctor over the holidays. I did get a pedicure the day it started and I noticed it about an hour after.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello, my name is Dr.Dorina Gurabardhi. I understand your concern.
Some advices that I can give to you are :
-Properly positioned moleskin pads can help relieve pressure on a corn.
-moisturizing creams may help soften the skin and remove cracked calluses
-There are also stronger creams containing urea that might be more effective
-Wear properly fitted shoes and cotton socks, not wool or synthetic fibers that might irritate the skin
Hope my answer was helpful, if you have any other questions I'll be glad to help!
Regards, Dr.Dorina Gurabardhi.
