Following are the fats that are detected in the blood and their normal values
Total cholesterol (Upto 200 mg/dl.
It represents the total cholesterol in the blood and includes the good and bad types.
High density cholesterol (
HDL) Good cholesterol and should ideally be in the range of 40-59 mg/dl.
High levels of HDL are increased during exercise and useful because it decreases the risk of developing
heart disease.
Low density cholesterol (
LDL) - Bad cholesterol and if this is high, the person is at a risk of developing heart disease. Upto 100 mg/dl. is taken as normal.
Triglycerides (Amount of fat in the blood. The level of triglycerides may be raised if LDL has also increased. Upto 150 mg/dl. is normal.
Total cholesterol to HDL ratio - This is the total cholesterol divided by the value of HDL. A ratio of five indicates an average risk of heart disease.
Your calculated Total cholesterol to HDL ratio is 3.75.
In view of the above mentioned normal
lipid profile your lipid profile level is within the normal range and well controlled.
