What Does Abdominal Pain On The Right Side Indicate?

I have a pain in my right side that goes completely through by abdomen and into my back. I don t have my appendix, it was removed in the 80 s. The pain goes from about an 8 to about a 3. I actually fell down a hill on July 15, 2017. I have had two xrays and a CT scan that showed no broken bones. Should I go to my regular doctor or see an ob/gyn?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The pain you describe can be caused by several conditions like bowel problems (constipation or hernia) or ob/gyn problems and sometimes it maybe related to muscles of the abdominal wall. To better determine the cause of the pain you will need a visit with you doctor.

It would be best to see your regular doctor (GP) so he can visit you and determine the origin of the pain and he will be able to refer you to the right specialist. This is the best and more cost-effective approach.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Kind regards,
Antoneta Zotaj, MD
