What Does Abdominal Pain On The Right Side Indicate?

Hello, I have minor, dull pain on my right side of the abdomen in the area more or less equidistant from the top part of my right hip bone and rib cage. The paid is minor, dull and not persistent. How concerned should I be and/or at what point should I see a doctor if the pain persists. Thanks
