What Does A White Lash On The Upper Eyelid Indicate?

Hi, last year I noticed a white eye lash on my upper left eyelid. After almost a year it grew out and thought it was a one time issue. Last month I noticed another white eyelash on my upper right eyelid, and today another one white eyelash appeared on my upper left eyelid. I m in my mid-30 s and do not have gray hair. What could be causing the white eyelashes to grow?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It might be milia. Milia are tiny bumps that occur under the outer skin layer (epidermis) of the eyelid. Sometimes called "milk spots" or "oilseeds," these pearly white spots may be on large areas of the face. Please see a dermatologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr AJEET SINGH, General & Family Physician
