Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Does A White Bump Around A Surgical Incision Indicate?
An incision from a breast reduction in Jan. opened to about the size of a quarter, very little drainage. The open part is mostly pink skin (I m assuming) and a white bump that I can best describe as looking like a slug. I will be calling my surgeon tomorrow but I m just wondering what the white bump might be.
The symptoms seem to be related to granulation tissue which is healing.
It is a very common process while the wound is healing.
You should not be worried about. I also suggest regular check ups with your surgeon.
Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi,
