What Does A White Build Up At The Corner Of Mouth Suggest?
I have a white build up at the corners of my mouth, I can scrape some of it off but it comes back, I have experienced this from time to time over the years but seems to go away on its own but then reappears, what is it? And is there some topical treatment I can use to clear it up.
Detailed answer - As per your query you have white build up around corners of mouth which keeps on reappearing is because of excessive dehydration in your body. You don't feel thirsty but your oral cavity is water deprived, Due to this fungal infection such as candida find a appropriate environment to stay and grow there.
I would suggest you to drink lot water at-least 8-10 glasses a day either you feel thirsty or not. Apply petroleum jelly at corners of mouth to prevent is from drying. Take saliva stimulating agents such as sugarless candies, chew gums. Multivitamin tablet rich in vitamin B12 is must for you. Maintain proper hygiene with brushing, flossing and mouthwash daily.
If your condition keeps on persisting then visit oral pathologist once and get biopsy done for this white build up to rule out any underlying pathology.
Hope your concern has been resolved. Get Well Soon. Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
