What Does A Swollen Vein In The Armpit Indicate?

I had a boil under my armpit which produced some pus. After the swelling went down I observed a swollen vein under that same armpit. It causes a pulling sensation and though the boil has been gone for about a month, the swollen vein and pulling sensation still continues and it makes me uncomfortable.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The swollen vein after boil formation mandates possible lymph node enlargement secondary to the primary infection. I recommend to get examined with a consultant surgeon and treat accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
