What Does A Swollen Lump In Lower Left Abdomen Indicate?

When my doctor pressed on my lower left belly which felt some pain when he pushed..he felt that it was swollen and a small lump there. Had a ultrasound and it came back normal!.I got my period the next day but he still wants me to get a ct scan. And I feel if the ultrasound came back normal I don t need a ct scan!.Could their be anything wrong? Or what could this be?

Noted the history of pain on pressure by a Doctor in the left lower belly, felt that something is swollen - a small lump there - had a normal ultrasound and got the periods the next day - wants to know whether it is necessary to get the CT scan done when ultrasound is normal.
Yes, it is very important when on clinical examination there is tenderness and a lump. All such things are not picked up by ultrasound due to its limitations.
Hence it is better to get the CT can done, if it turns out to be normal, the worry goes away and if there is any positive finding further tests as per the reports can be done such as colonoscopy and so on to get a confirmed diagnosis and get treated accordingly.
