What Does A Sore In The Left Ear Indicate?

I have a sore in the fold of my left ear--has been there for 6-8 weeks. Has been treated by my ENT with Mupirocin ointment for about 4 weeks. When it didn t go away he added treatment with Clotrimazole & Betamethasone Dipropionate cream which I ve been using for 2 weeks. The lesion is still there. Should I be concerned that this is a cancer growing?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Cancer is the least likely causes but it is a possibility. It may be best to consider seeing a dermatologist for assessment of the area.

He or she would be in the best position to assess the skin involved and determine if the lesion is significant.

I hope this helps
