What Does A Small Lump On The Side Of The Waist Indicate?

I have found a small lump on the side of my waist below my rib cage. I went to the doctors a year ago and he said not to worry. But, it s a sixth sense that I cannot let this lie. Can I get a biopsy easily. I get a lot of headaches and often feel sick. My moods have gotten exceptionally angry. Pent up anger. All of which, could be pre menopausal (if not a little early). My question, do you think a second opinion?

Hello Mam,
I just read your query.
* As you have mentioned about lump on the waist, maximum chances are its a lipoma and you also underwent clinical examination last year. If your doctor told you not to worry, then again it indicating that it would be a lipoma.
* Lipoma is collection of some fat cells in a thin capsular layer under the skin. It hardly grows in size and is non cancerous and will not trouble you.
* But as you are worried about it, you can perform FNAC( fine needle aspiration cytology), it is laboratory investigation and through a fine needle some cells are taken and examined under microscope. This test will inform you about the type of cells and you will get rid of your tension.
*If you want to remove it then you can consult a general surgeon. But if you are ok with it then no need for removal.
* As far as your mood changes and headache are concerned,it might have many reasons, may vary from psychological to physiological. In psychological causes excessive stress can cause these type of symptoms, so stop worrying much. As you have asked about pre menapausal symptoms then mood changes and headache are if due to hormonal changes then you will feel excessive symotoms one week before menstrual cycle. So rule out whether its physiological or psychological.
* If the thing is bothering you much and interfering with your daily activity then go for a second opinion. Otherwise just perform FNAC and do meditation, yoga and exercise for mood changes and eat healthy as fresh fruits and vegetables and avoid excessive caffeine intake and sleep well. As all these things will help you a lot in mood stabilisation and getting rid of headache.
* I hope you are satisfied with my answer and it will be helpful for you.
Thank you.
