Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I woke up yesterday morning with a red circular rash that is slightly raised on the middle of my left thigh. It is about the size of a nickel & there are small little blisters . Sometimes it hurts & is itchy?! It hasn t spread , but it reminds me of when I had poison ivy blotches all over me. And I have not been in any poison ivy. Could it possibly be a staph infection?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
With the history of poison Ivy indicates that your body is more sensitive to any foreign allergens. The description of a red circular rash slightly raised on the middle of thigh indicate that this is possibly due to in sect bite as there are small blisters around. I would advise you to consult your Doctor to get a confirmed diagnosis and get a proper management with an antihistamine and oral steroid to get a control. Do not apply anything locally or do not rub the area.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
