What Does A Rash And Boil On Hands Indicate?

my good friend has been going to hospital 4x week for iv treatment. And was told to stay away from people as she is very contagious she has been doing this for a week. Could this be mesa? She had a rash and boil like things on her hands. How long does last?

Hi.
As per your case history your friend maybe having MRSA infection.
My treatment advice is-
1. As it is contagious, it is better to maintain isolation for at least 2 weeks.
2. Apply a mild antibiotic like fusiderm cream on boils and rashes.
3. MRSA requires higher antibiotics like linezolid,rifampicin,piperacillin given only after consulting a dermatologist.
