What Does A Painful Lump In The Vagina Indicate?
Hello! So this is weird. But I noticed a singular lump in the lips of my vagina yesterday. It s painful and I ve had this pain for maybe a week but didn t know what was causing it. It s kind of like a dull pain with discomfort. But it s worrisome because of the location. It s not an STD. My last sex was more than a year ago.

What problem you could be having inside vagina appears to be 'Bartholin's cyst'. Since it is painful, it could be infected. Kindly do the following to overcome it.
1. Clean the area with mild antiseptic solution like Povidine-iodine solution twice daily.
2. Take antiinflammatory analgesic medication like Ibuprofen after food.
3. Take a course of antibiotics containing Amoxacillin and Clavulenic acid.
4. Take Sitz bath twice daily.
5. Abstain from sexual activities till the lesions heal completely.
Symptoms should subside by doing above measures by 3 to 5 days. In case the cyst recurs or does not subside, you may have to undergo a procedure called 'marsupialization'. Kindly consult Gynecologist for further evaluation and and appropriate management.
