What Does A Painful Lump Behind The Knee During Pregnancy Indicate?

I am currently 4 months pregnant and found a lump behind my right knee. I have varicose veins in that leg about 6 inches under the lump. They have become worse and painful since becoming pregnant. The lump is tender and painful after prolonged walking or exercise. Ithe has been there for about a week, never getting bigger or smaller (about the size of a dime. I have a normal appointment with my obgyn monday but am wondering if I should get it checked out before hand.
