What Does A Nodule In The Bladder Indicate?

I just had a CAT scan to check for ulcers and repeated bouts of diverticulitis. My primary doctor sent a note telling me to make an appointment to see an urologist due to a nodule on my bladder. I m scared of the type of physical exam I will have to have, possibility of cancer, and what the treatments and options will be. What should I expect?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I do understand your pain and discomfort. As per your history you have a nodule in the bladder. May I know is it painful or accidentally detected? Usually cancer growths are painless and accidentally detected. So urologist will take a sample from your bladder through urethral route for histopathologic exam after report treatment plan will be decided.so regarding treatment nothing to be worried at all.

I hope I was able to address your query. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to write to me.

Wishing you all the best.

Thanks,
Dr. Uday Nath Sahoo
