What Does A Lump In The Bicep Of A Child Indicate?

I noticed a lump in the bicep area of my 6 year old daughter. Next day it reduced to one fourth of its size but it still persists and is palpable. On initial impression it appeared as a lymph node enlargement but on careful observation, I see that the lump is in direction of a vein. I am not sure if it a part of the vein. What could it be?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It may need further evaluations to see what kind of lump it is. The more common cause it can be a lymph node. An ultrasound can be done and a total blood count.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Olgeta Xhufka , General & Family Physician
