What Does A Liquid Filled Growth On Scrotum Indicate?

hello. I had a growth on the OUTSIDE of my scrotum. It felt like it was filled with liquid. It came up in about a day and a half. it was very tender to the touch and uncomfortable to sit or walk. When I can home yesterday it had popped .Today the skin that surrounded it is dead.It looks like a baby s cord when it dries up. Any idea what it could be?

Hello. Thank you for writing to us at healthcaremagic

I will keep a possibility of a bacterial infection i.e a furuncle or a boil, which is an infection of the skin and soft tissue with surrounding cellulitis, the infection gaining entry through the hair follicle.
If I was the treating doctor I would suggest a course of an Oral antibiotic for a week. My choice of Oral antibiotic would be either flucloxacillin Or cephalexin for a week.
Topically you may use an OTC antibacterial e.g 2% mupirocin ointment, twice daily.
An OTC antiinflammatorty e.g ibuprofen twice or thrice daily will provide you symptomatic relief from pain.

Regards
